Job Context:

We are looking for a skilled individual for the position of Manager, Procurement to manage, develop and  oversee the procurement process of the organization, which involves acquiring goods, services, and works from external suppliers and vendors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate prices, and terms of contracts to ensure the best value for the organization.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, plans, and policies to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage and administer contracts with suppliers, including tracking delivery schedules, quality control, and resolving issues.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality, delivery time, and reliability.
  • Oversee the management of inventory levels, including stock levels, storage, and disposal of goods.
  • Purchase goods and services from suppliers, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective supply chain management, including logistics, transportation, and warehousing.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs through procurement strategies such as value analysis, supplier consolidation, and negotiations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement, such as supplier insolvency, non-delivery of goods, or poor-quality products.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, laws, regulations, and industry standards related to procurement.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including suppliers, internal departments, and senior management.
  • Provide regular reports to stakeholders on procurement activities, performance metrics, and trends.
  • Identify areas for improvement in procurement processes and implement changes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and improve supply chain performance.
  • Manage specific categories of goods or services, such as IT hardware or office supplies, to ensure optimized procurement strategies.
  • Analyze organizational spend patterns to identify areas for cost savings and optimization.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in procurement processes and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's Anti-Corruption and Self-Integrity Policy
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's overall strategy by identifying opportunities for procurement to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with the organization’s overall objectives, considering factors such as cost, quality, availability, and sustainability
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, conduct price benchmarking, negotiate favorable terms and pricing, and implement strategies to optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality standards
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to delivery and payment processing. 
  • Develop and implement initiatives to promote supplier diversity and sustainability, ensuring ethical sourcing practices and compliance with relevant regulations
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as finance, operations, and supply chain, to align procurement strategies with business objectives, support project requirements, and optimize cross-functional processes
  • Utilize procurement systems and tools to analyze data, generate reports, and provide insights on key procurement metrics 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, systems, and procedures, promoting efficiency, accuracy, and agility

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management System
  • Understanding of inventory management principles and practices
  • Experience with financial software applications
  • Ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions

Experience Requirements:

A minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management System or Procurement.

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters in Accounting/Finance from a reputed university
  • Professional qualification on Supply Chain Management 
  • Relevant certifications in Procurement are advantageous
